Why should I donate food and clothing?

Donating food and clothing helps those in need and contributes to building a stronger, more supportive community. Your donations can make a significant impact on the lives of individuals facing hardship.

What items can I donate?

You can donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and clothing items like clothes, shoes, and accessories. 

ALL clothing donations need to be clean and in good repair.

Where can I donate food and clothing?

Food can be donated at our pantry location:

228 West Spring St
Dallas, GA 30132
Monday-Friday: 8:30am to 3:30pm

Clothing can be donated at our clothing center:

240 Professional Court
Dallas, GA 30132
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 10:00am to 2:00pm

*We DO NOT have a dropbox at either location, so please donate at these locations at the times listed.

Are there any tax benefits for donating food and clothing?

Contributions of goods are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. You will receive a receipt for any donations.

Does Helping Hands offer rental assistance?

Helping Hands of Paulding County does not offer rental assistance. Please contact your local churches and the United Way resource line 211.

What are the requirements for services?

You will need to bring in proof of Paulding County residency (lease agreement, mortgage document or utility bill) and proof of your household income (four paycheck stubs, social security/disability letter, child support documentation, etc.)

Are volunteers allowed to perform court-mandated community service hours with the organization?

We allow court ordered community service hours for traffic related charges such as speeding, DUI, reckless driving, expired drivers license, no insurance, etc. Please call if you have questions. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
