Helping Hands

Spiritual Encouragement

Helping Hands of Paulding County is a faith-based ministry.  Our staff holds a short devotional each morning before seeing clients.  Everyone is encouraged to participate, but participation is not mandatory.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.  (Romans 8:28-30 NIV)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.  Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (Romans 8:38-39 NLT)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with the wings of eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)
I want to shine for You my world, Lord.  Show me how to lift You up, the Light of the world.  I look forward to that day when I will gather with people from all nations to bow at Your feet and worship You.
Lord, help us to see beyond the moments of our lives and to delve deeply into Your marvelous handiwork and perfect design.  Forgive us for our short-shortsightedness and teach us to see You in every circumstance.
Be strong in the Lord and be of good courage; Your mighty Defender is always the same.  Mount up with wings, as the eagle ascending; Victory is sure when you call on His name.
Father, make Yourself known to us in our weakest moments and in our greatest fears.  Teach us to receive Your love in a way that enables us to show it to others, especially those closest to us.
Help me, O Lord, to be content!  My lips to seal, To every vain desire, each whim-instead to kneel, Acknowledging Thee, Lord and King, and in that place To kneel, to pray, to wait until I see Thy face! – Adams
